ANNALISA MALVASIO - quasar lux symphoniae I have always had a passion for music and singing. I was eight when I first performed on stage, but bashfulness soon forced me to sing in my bedroom. One day, tired of my four walls, I began to take dancing classes (which spanned from classical, contemporary, lyrical jazz to hip hop and funk) and voice lessons. So, step by step, I once again found the desire to feel emotions by giving emotions. Thus, my story as an “artist” began, performing as a dancer and as a pop music soloist in various competitions and shows. Eventually, I had an opportunity to join a band, which I took without a second thought. I found that singing in a group was a new and attractive experience. I traveled from one group to another until I joined a pop, rock, blues and funky cover band, where I experienced new and exciting flavors.
Then came the magical meeting with QLS, the audition with Maestro Paroni, and the honor to be chosen as their sole female voice. I later had the opportunity to do a dance music recording but it just didn't suit me. I felt much more satisfied participating in a CD recording of the rock group Cormorano as a vocalist. Finally, with initial hesitation and doubt, I settled into the world of opera which unexpectedly took a growing hold on me, thanks to my one great teacher Stella Silva. Today I'm lucky enough to make a living out of my passion, singing either solo or in a chorus in operas and concerts in various theaters such as La Fenice of Venice. Out of my various experiences, I have learned to love all styles of music which touch me and make me feel alive independent of its genre, however I have a deeper bond with soul, blues and gospel. I consequently love enveloping, and piercing voices. I'm fully convinced of the fact that one who sings must, above all, be a great interpreter to succeed in deeply touching oneself and others and this is why I hold in my heart the great Mia Martini.
My favorite hobby is directing. My great dream is to be able to express the emotion and feeling which music grants me and to be able to convey it into the heart of those who listen.
